Not A Christian Nation

December 5, 2010 Leave a comment

It’s Sunday, the first day of the week, which means it’s the Day of Resurrection and time for “Not A Christian Nation”.

At the National Gallery of Art, just in time for the Nativity, we have “Hide and Seek”, a taxpayer funded gay orgy of adolescent angst passing as something of value. Controversy surrounds the opening scene of Fire In My Belly, a film by David Wojnarowicz, whom we last heard from, I think, when he played opposite Abe Vagoda in “Barney Miller”. Warning: the film sucks, and features a guy cranking one off.

WWTCD? (What Would The Commies Do?) From The Naked Communist by Cleon Skausen as read into the Congressional Record 1/10/63 by Rep. A.S. Herlong, Jr.:

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums.
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.” Skousen claimed Communists sought to encourage the practice of masturbation.

I’ll be damned. They even got it in order. They must have a copy of the checklist, too.

Worse, of course, is the fact that this stuff is so bad. It is really, really bad. My daughter did far more high brow shit in a stop-motion with Webkinz and a $49.99 digital camera. It was Edward Hopper compared to this crap. Offensive? Check. Gets a shot in at Jesus? Check. Gives the shitballs something to whine “censorship” about? Well, yeah. That’s Job One so they don’t mess that up. Take that you Christers!

In other news, the traditional “Secular Humanism Trumps Christianity as Our State Religion” crowd is protesting, what else, a Nativity Scene in Denver. You can read it, but you already know what it says. Same old shit.

It’s “Christmas”, assholes. “Christ Mass”, “The Nativity of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”, not the Solstice, not Winter Break, not The Holidays. You don’t like it, don’t take the day off.

As Christians, we’ve been through this before. From Diocletian to Stalin, we’ve withstood far larger assaults. Your whimpering lawfare bullshit is laughable. “Happy Holidays”? “Season’s Greetings”? Come on. Your heroes the Soviets tried much harder, though with your ownership of education in this country, I have to give you props for following the script.

A Soviet teacher must be guided by the principle of the Party spirit of science; he is obliged not only to be an unbeliever himself, but also to be an active propagandist of godlessness among others, to be the bearer of the ideas of militant proletarian atheism. Skillfully and calmly, tactfully and persistently, the Soviet teacher must expose and overcome religious prejudices in the course of his activity in school and out of school, day in and day out.
–F. N. Oleschuk, Secretary of the League Militant Atheists in Uchitselskaya Gazeta 26 Nov 1949

They went underground, which I’m sure would suit you just fine. But we won’t. This is America, bitches. We’re not Russian peasants. We don’t back down and end up here:

Cookies!!
